The word kefir is from the Turkish word “keyif” which translates to “feeling good after ingestion”. This creamy goodness has been in circulation for thousands of years with the belief that it has amazing healing powers.

Organic Coconut Kefir

I am sure you are familiar with some of the more popular ferments like yogurt, sauerkraut, tofu or kombucha, but have you ever heard of Kefir?  Our creamy coconut kefir is raw, fermented, vegan and delicious.

Ecoeating is the best! Their coconut kefir is a life saver! I use it all the time when my stomach is feeling off. I don’t know what I did before I found this product!!!

EcoEating organic coconut kefir supplies your intestines with beneficial bacteria to promote healthy guts plus the many benefits of coconuts.

This non-dairy kefir can be used in place of sour cream, yogurt or whipping cream with most enjoying it right off the spoon. Pets love it too!

The coconut kefir is completely delicious and the texture is amazing. An excellent kefir product for vegans or people who need/want to be dairy-free. I have also attended the kombucha brewing workshop and am still brewing and enjoying my homemade kombucha three years later. The owner is a fountain of knowledge, tons of healthy ideas and wellness tips, many that have been easy for me to incorporate into my routine. Love this company.

Kefir vs Yogurt

Both yogurt and kefir are fermented products and similar in tart taste. Their difference lies in their starter culture and the amounts of beneficial bacteria they contain. Yogurt is cultured with only a bacteria strain and kefir is fermented with both bacteria and yeast. Both are a source of probiotics, kefir however, typically contains 3x the amount of probiotic cultures than yogurt.

Coconut Kefir Benefits

Fermentation is when microbes eat away at the carbohydrates (sugars) in foods and creates a by-product of organic acids or alcohol. This process makes more absorbable nutrient foods, easier to digest and promotes probiotics. Probiotics are normally found in your digestive tract as part of the intestinal flora. These good guys help inhibit the growth of unfriendly, disease-causing bacteria and stimulate the body’s immune response and promote healthy digestion. Too often we are unbalanced with good to bad bacteria due to use of antibiotics, hand sanitizers, diets high in processed sugary foods and consuming foods high in pesticides. When our guts are challenged with more bad than good bacteria we are faced with an assortment of health problems such as PMS, IBS, unclear skin, moodiness and brain fog.

About EcoEating

Hi! I am Jodi Cureatz a certified Holistic Nutritionist, Culinary Nutrition Expert and founder of EcoEating Holistic Nutrition. EcoEating is a small business operating in Oshawa Ontario that produces Organic Coconut Kefir. As a nutritionist I am passionate about inspiring others to discover real foods through inspirational recipes along with experiencing the ancient practice of fermentation.

I began my nutrition career by instructing numerous Kombucha brewing workshops and providing educational lectures within the Region of Durham. In 2015 when my beloved Boston Terrier got sick, I naturally turned to microbes to treat his immune system and began producing Organic Coconut Kefir. Demand for my gut supporting non-dairy kefir began to grow and so did a small team. Today, our Coconut Kefir can be found in the refrigerators of your favourite health retailer.

Coconut Kefir Banana Bread

Coconut Kefir Banana Bread

I love the smell of fresh banana bread baking. The sweetness in the air makes me very impatient to take that first bite. Adding Coconut Kefir to the recipe really added in some extra moisture without the dairy. Enjoy fresh from the oven or smother on some nut...
